Learn about the educational benefits and thinking behind Pax.
We created Pax because we needed something different. Something that could go anywhere with us, keep our kids engaged, and actually support their development (while also distracting them!)
We’re not anti-screens. Let’s be honest, iPads and YouTube are great. But we didn’t want screen time to be the only option when we were heading out for a meal, taking a flight, visiting friends, or waiting at an appointment. We wanted something hands-on, fun and educational.
That’s how Pax was born.
Each Pax is designed to turn everyday play into a learning moment without feeling like homework. They’re filled with activities that support early childhood development across key areas like motor skills, cognitive thinking, and emotional regulation. They're also compact enough to toss in a handbag, backpack or baby bag and durable enough to handle real-life parenting.
We’ve thought of everything:
-
Portable and easy to carry.
-
Mess-free and self-contained.
-
Made with safe, durable plastic so they’re easy to clean and built to last.
-
Perfect for travel, restaurants, waiting rooms, or quiet time at home.
Skills Supported by Pax
One of Pax’s co-founders is a qualified NSW primary school teacher with over a decade of experience in K–6 classrooms. That background has shaped everything we do, from the choice of materials, to the types of play we include, to the way each activity aligns with early learning outcomes. It means every Pax isn’t just fun, it’s grounded in real educational value, informed by what actually works for kids in the classroom and at home.
Each Pax has been designed to help build foundational skills for early learners. Depending on the pack, your child might be working on:
-
🧠 Cognitive development: problem-solving, cause and effect, following instructions.
-
🎨 Creativity & imagination: open-ended play, storytelling, character role-play.
-
✋ Fine motor skills: grasping, cutting, squeezing, stacking, threading.
-
🔠 Early literacy: letter recognition, spelling basics, phonics (Scribblix).
-
🔢 Early numeracy: number recognition, counting, sequencing, matching.
-
🎲 Sorting & categorisation: by colour, shape, size, or theme (great for focus and logic).
-
🎯 Hand-eye coordination: manipulating tools, aiming, building with precision.
-
🧩 Spatial awareness: understanding how objects fit and move together (Magnetix, Racetrax).
-
😌 Sensory regulation: tactile play with dough and textures can be calming and grounding.
-
👯 Social-emotional learning – taking turns, collaborative play, building confidence
Pax turns everyday play into meaningful, skill-building fun without needing batteries or screens.
We made Pax for our own kids because we couldn’t find anything quite like it. Now we’re proud to share Pax with yours.
